This House In My Dreams

A few weeks ago, I had a dream about walking through this neighborhood and the street had a small decline on it, there were houses everywhere except on the left side where there were all woods, and along this section of the street, there were women holding torches inviting me over to the wooded sided of the street, openly telling me that they perform witchcraft over there and they wanted me to see. In the dream, I told them, "no thanks" and kept walking. Well guess what happened on Friday?
I was driving home with my daughter and I decided to go through a neighborhood that I never drove through before and guess what I saw? The same exact area that I dreamt about a few weeks ago. I made a u-turn and got out of there :)

It's Time To Step Up!

Okay... the last class we had (two weeks ago) at bible college, Pastor Bill told us for this summer break, challenge ourselves and test God by giving our full tithing to Him and to see what He does. This was the Sunday that I started. I gave tithes & offering.
And, I'm so happy, my friend and co-worker Nikki came to church today. This was her third visit in over 8 months. I'm working on her :)

Laila went to a pool party yesterday! She had FUN!

Apostle Ron Carpenter, Jr.

Last night at church during Camp Meeting, the guest speaker Ron Carpenter spoke my language. He was talking about how churches can help make more revenue in the church and do more things for their members by using the OPM method (I’m making that up “Other People’s Money). I’m all for thinking of creative ways for a company to get involved in things and getting them to donate! Anyway, he was teaching (keyword: teaching) us about tithing. We’ve all heard it plenty of times before, over and over again, that tithing was giving God a tenth of your first fruits and for simplicities sake, let’s say a tenth of your income. Well Ron did a little more digging and found that the original meaning is, given to God for Him to rebuke the devourer (the bold is off the top of my head, let me refer back to my notes when I get home). When we tithe, God will open a window and pour out blessings to us, and Ron said that that there are so many people in the church that are praising God to a closed window, worshipping God to a closed window, praying to a closed window, tithing to a closed window.

Ron also talked about us getting out the small frame of mind that we’ve placed ourselves in based off what society is in. God does not want us in poverty where we are, He wants so much more for us, but we first have to change our thinking and think outside of the realm where we are. The enemy spirits are attacking us on the level that we are to become, not the level that we are on. I thought that statement was powerful. The spirits know what your purpose is, but because you don’t, you adapt the spirit of what the world wants you to become.

Lord's Dealings

I haven't been doing a very good job with keeping you updated with the things that the Lord is dealing with me on. One VERY BIG THING is the way that I talk to some people. It's not so much the way I talk to them as it is HOW I talk. I have a way of telling people EXACTLY what I'm thinking with a smile or a little chuckle at the end. Whereas, I just need not to say anything at all. I'm trying to think of an example so I can be a bit more clear. I've been able to catch a few times on television where Victoria Osteen would say that she is very strong-headed at times and says what's on her mind, etc. She says that as time goes on, she getting a lot better with not saying too much that some people may take offense to, or just replying a bit differently with a more mutual thought. It's not as bad as it seems from reading this. Here's an example from last year:
I was at work, in the bathroom, after lunch, brushing my teeth. A co-worker comes in a asks, "I know what you're doing, but why are you brusing your teeth?" Let's pause for a second, and let me ask you, what would you say?
I told her that you are supposed to brush your teeth at least three times a day and proceeded to ask her how many times does she brush her teeth? Well looking back, I should not have asked her that, I should have just left it at the informational response.
Anyway, without a lot of examples to explain this claim, it's getting useless... so let just say that I'll be working on my questions and answers for the rest of this year.

Lunch at Friday's

Last night, church was good. Pastor Todd preached on "Getting out of commonality with God." He was stating that as Christians, we don't need to be like common folk and raising our children like common people. We have an uncommon God and we need to be uncommon folk.

Last Day of Seminay School

Today is the last day of seminary school until the summer break is over. We wrapped up our class on "Praise." It was very interesting, as I learned over the past few weeks that the best way to please God is to praise Him. Through everything that you go through, good and challenging, you should always praise God. Even when you don't see that things are looking good in the natural, you should praise God anyway.

Zachary Went To His Grandparents House

Zachary went to his grandparents house yesterday in Miami. Hubby was not happy. If I may say, he has separation anxiety with the kids. I don't, and as a mother it doesn't mean that I love them less, it simply means I know that they are in good care, and I don't have a problem with my children traveling. My children are very independent children; most of the time they get upset with people who try to help them do stuff that they would like to do on their own; i.e. don't feed Zachary, he will have a fit--> he wants to hold the spoon himself, even if it means that he will be wearing the food all day!

Needless to say, my family is enjoying him. Play on Zachary!

My Fast Is Complete! & I'm Celebrating My Birthday!


I set my alarm clock for 12 midnight... I got out the bed, heated up the chicken wings, homemade mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob that my husbands made; turned on Lakewood Church with Joel Osteen and reclined in the couch with a cup of juice and a napkin. Before I heated up my food, I said my last thank you prayer to God... thanking Him for giving me a wonderful family, for being my provider, my strength, my friend, my father, my encourager, my source, etc.

It was raining and lightening while Laila and I were playing together in the garage, and when a lightening flash became visible to her, she looked up and said, "who's taking a picture of me?"

For My Birthday
Hubby had a dozen pink roses delivered to my job and he cooked salmon, shrimp and home-made mashed potatoes for dinner! Yum, yum. Thank you baby!

I'm beginning my one-day fast today (started at midnight)! I want to bring in my birthday with praying and fasting, so I'm going to pray and fast with just water for only a day. Hummm, where's my prayer list at?

Day Spa

I went to our church's Day Spa today. They had pampering things there like massages, facials, makeovers, pedicures, manicures, etc. and I took my mother-in-law as a guest. The very best part of it was the "Special Treatment" room, where you would get your feet washed and anointed while being prayed over and then end with communion. And... since I don't pass a moment for highly anointed people to pray for me, I participated. A kind young woman prayed for me (Jan B.). While Jan was praying, God revealed a lot of things that were confirmation for me. She said that God will use me in the spotlight because He knows that I am not prideful; she said that people will come against me to challenge me, but I will not be moved, because I will be confident; I will be an Ambassador for the Lord; I will do a lot of traveling from place to place being His Ambassador; I will be dressed in a suit (ut oh... I love sneakers!); the Lord is preparing me with training (it's safe to assume seminary school); and some other things that I can't remember off the top right now. After she prayed for me, I went to the alter for communion and an anointed prayer minister there said that God is trying to get me attention because He wants so desperately to talk to me, and I told her, I was so desperately trying to hear from Him. It is just such a beautiful feeling when you hear from god or have other people pray for you and they give you messages from God. It just gives you a feeling you can’t explain. Can’t wait until the next one! Thank you.

In the Old Testament the Hebrew word _tsir_, meaning "one who goes on an errand," is rendered thus (Josh. 9:4; Prov. 13:17; Isa. 18:2; Jer. 49:14; Obad. 1:1). This is also the rendering of _melits_, meaning "an interpreter," in 2 Chr. 32:31; and of _malak_, a "messenger," in 2 Chr. 35:21; Isa. 30:4; 33:7; Ezek. 17:15. This is the name used by the apostle as designating those who are appointed by God to declare his will (2 Cor. 5:20; Eph. 6:20). The Hebrews on various occasions and for various purposes had recourse to the services of ambassadors, e.g., to contract alliances (Josh. 9:4), to solicit favours (Num. 20:14), to remonstrate when wrong was done (Judg. 11:12), to condole with a young king on the death of his father (2 Sam. 10:2), and to congratulate a king on his accession to the throne (1 Kings 5:1). Crunch Time At Work

I stayed late to work today!!! Whereas I would normally get off at 11:30 am today, I didn't leave the building until 6:30 pm!!!! I'm like Kool Moe Dee >>> "I Go To Work!" Wow, I sure took you back on that one, huh? Yeah, that's what some of you are saying (huh)... okay let me stop because I'm showing my age!
