Day 6 of 10

Gosh, I have a paper due on Sunday that I've started three times already. When am I going to finish it?

Easy Week, Next Week

I need to be counting the days that I will be taking off from work. That's next Tuesday and Wednesday and then I have a half day on Friday, man next week is going to be a breeze. And, I meet with my pastor next week too!

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5,6)

Wednesday, March 30, 2005

“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.” (Isaiah 53:3,4)

"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men–the testimony given in its proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:5,6)

Day 1 of 10

Nothing happened out of the ordinary yesterday, which leaves me thinking about the 10 days that came to me the other week. I'm thinking now... maybe it was not only 10 days until the 56th day, but 10 days after the 56th day. What day is 10 days from now?

If I'm not mistaken, it'll be Monday, April 4th.

“For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for Him,” (Philippians 1:29)

Countdown from 56 is over!

Well, today is the day! Today 56 days is over and I'm going to keep my eyes and ears open to what God wants to tell me. Hopefully I'll have some news for you before the night comes.

I have accounts from the Spirit, here and here.

I pray it's good news! It's from God, it has to be.

What Does God Have Planned Today!

I went to church last night and I'd have to say that it started right at tithing time. I shouldn't tell you this, but I usually give $30 every Wednesday and Sunday. And sometimes I would even give as high as $110, if I felt moved to. Well tonight, I really prayed that God would drop in my spirit the amount that He thought I should sow seed with. So I gave $50! I don't know about you.... but that's a bold step of faith for me to give $50 on a Wednesday. Normally, if I gave that kind of amount... it would be on a Sunday. (I don't know why, no logic, just used to giving more on Sunday's.) And it seemed that tonight, the Pastor said a different prayer over our tithing, it seemed very much like it was a true test of our faith for some reason. I can't explain it, it just wasn't his normal tithing prayer. Anyway, back on the ranch... the sermon goes on, which BTW was about not just going to church and becoming gluttonous off The Word, but coming to church to get fed, and realizing that we need to spread our food with other people who didn't come to the table to eat. Going out and ministering to people, not just always being ministered to!

Okay, anyway after the sermon, I'm hanging around talking (for about 45 mins.), conducting a little business with Tony for the church's television graphics and I go in to tell pastor he did a great job and he tells me that I owe him lunch. I say "What?" and he repates it. I told him he must has some good news for me, and he kept repeating that I owe him lunch. I told him "Let's go, where am I taking you?" Of course he names the restaurant that you would name 'playfully' if you wanted the 'most expensive restaurant with the least amount of food.' So I told him, "It's done!" He told me to call his personal secretary tomorrow and that's what I'm gonna do!

Things Coming Out In The Wash

Things have been coming out about Jess that I didn't know... e.g. stealing money, writing bad checks to a co-worker, "pawn-shopping" things from her mom, etc. I'll keep her in my prayers, because some of the things I've been told, I know first hand that they are true.

I Do Not Judge.

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12)

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

How God Worked

My church didn't have service tonight, knowing that, I called my new friend (Eva) and asked her what church does she attend and if I can go with her on Wednesday. This was on Monday, I didn't call her on Tuesday and called to confirm again on Wednesday. So I went to the church, sat by her and listened to the sermon. The sermon was on "keeping on" with what you going with and have faith that God will help you along the way. Anyway, while he was talking the pastor mention her name, saying, "So keep on with what you're doing Eva and don't let anyone talk you out of it." Anyway to narrow this story down, she said at that very moment that the pastor had said her name, she was thinking that she should quit taking her online courses because it's a little much for her at this time. And when the pastor had said that to her, it lets her know that God wants her to keep striving for her education and it was encouragement for her.

It's so nice when you witness God working for people. Here I am beliving that I'm going to church to get some edification and not only do I get that, but I discovered had it not been for me planning on meeting Eva at church, she would have never come tonight. God worked it out for the both of us!

Trying Tuesday

This morning I was praying and the holy spirit dropped in me that there was going to be something like a last minute decision concerning me in 10 days. I went to write that in my calendar and saw that there were 10 days left from the time God told me 56 days.
This is getting exciting. I will really be dis-a-ppointed if nothing happens in 10 days. I think I better begin to pray this through!

Wait... what if's it's something negative, like...(I rebuke that thought)!

“then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10,12)

Today is Monday

My pastor told me that he wanted about three or four people to rotate doing the church announcements, so I picked the first week in April. I'll let you know how I do... through Jesus Christ all things are possible!

“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, selfcontrol; and to selfcontrol, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:5-8)

First Service In New Church & My Prayer Language

We had our very first church service today in the new church. It was very exciting. This was also the first day of my prayer ministry. That went well too.
Though it went well, I know that I have a lot of growing to do and one of the things that I know the Lord is dealing with me on, is studying the Word more and really getting it down in my spirit so that I can regurgitate it when praying for people.

Prayer Language
I was on my way to seminary school tonight and just as soon as I turned on my radio, I turned it off. I felt a strong need to just spend some time with God and to just thank Him for all that He is doing and for everything that He has done.

At seminary, we had a guest talking on the holy spirit's prayer language and he was sharing stories of how he would travel and baptize people in the Holy Spirit. Naturally I thought he would like to do it here as well, but as I later found out... this was not his plan.

It was our first break, and I was so excited from hearing his stories, so I went up to meet him and said, "Hi, my name is Thais and I want to be Baptized in the Holy Spirit." He looked a little taken-back, like this was not a part of his plans. He hesitatingly said that he'd consider it, but he doesn't think that this is something that he can do today. So I just told him thank you with a huge smile and walked back to my seat.

After break, he annouced that someone had mentioned he do the baptism of the holy spirit and he's sorry, but he won't be able to. Then the entire class began to cheer him on and clapping and apparently that's the confirmation that he needed because before long, we were lined up alongside the stage. He had the people that needed to be baptized up front and people that needed refilling behind them.

He asked us to close our eyes, be open to receiving the holy spirit and just begin moving our tongues; we also had to remember that receiving the holy spirit it not natural, it's supernatural, so it will feel very different. Anyway, I did as he said with an open and willing heart and when he touched his hand on my forehead, I felt myself saying whatever he was saying, almost like we were talking in unison. When he moved on to the next person, I noticed that I wasn't talking nearly as fast as he was when he was touching me, but still speaking my prayer language. He went up and down the line three times on when he touched me for the third time, he told me to let loose. I knew what he was talking about. I felt like I was fighting my flesh...not in the disbelief of speaking in tongues, but in the disbelief of the fact that I was speaking in tongues. I noticed that of all the words I was saying, the word "cor'eh'say" came up more than any other. My prayer language sounds like a beautiful mixture of Italian and Latin.

It's funny, because when I was sitting in class before it got started, I had the desire to read 1 Corinthians 14. Guess what that talks about? Prophecy and Tongues.

I read the entire passage, but 1-5 is my favorite: Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Have Faith

Okay. So last night I went to bible studay at a Methodist church and I didn't feel out of place at all. The bible study actually reminded me of my old church 15 years ago where they went into a classroom and actually had bible study. It was good. I'm just used to my church now where I don't think we have bible study, we have "chuch," not "church." (For those that still don't get it, it's like saying that woman can "sang" not "sing" [when she really put the hurtin' on her singing]). If you still don't get it, nevermind.

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” (1 Peter 3:15)

THANK YOU

This morning as I was praying, instead of making prayer requests to God, I turned EVERYTHING into "Thank You's." Instead of asking God to protect my home, I would tell Him Thank you for protecting my home, and so on.

There's no church today, because we're moving into our new building, so I'm going to go to a co-workers church, it's of Methodist belief. I don't even know what they believe, but I'm going to go because I love to learn about whatever. I think they don't believe in the Trinity of God, because when I asked my co-worker what subject their bible study was on, she said spiritual gifts. So I was all cheery and said, "Oh Gifts of the Holy Spirit, I love that stuff," and she said, "Well no, gifts from God." Anyway, I'll get back to you all on that.

“who has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,” (2 Timothy 1:9)

You Must Believe

I just named my title "You Must Believe" today. Not necessaryily going to write on it, but hopefully just the title alone will ancourage someone.

THE POSITIVE SIDE OF LIFE

Living on Earth is expensive,
but it does include a free trip
around the sun every year.

How long a minute is
depends on what side of the
bathroom door you're on.

Birthdays are good for you;
the more you have,
the longer you live.

Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

Ever notice that the people who are late
are often much jollier
than the people who have to wait for them?

Most of us go to our grave
with our music still inside of us.

If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day,
how come nothing is free yet?

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Don't cry because it's over;
smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
and all are different colors....but
they all exist very nicely in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who
can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Working for God on earth does not pay much,
but His Retirement plan is out of this world.

Have an awesome day, and
know that someone
who thinks you're great
has thought about you today!

--Thank you Afia for sending this.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

A Laila-ism

Laila was reading off the letters to some cards that she has and I'd tell her what the word spelled...well, she got to the word 'Hill" and read it off as H.I.Eleven. I thought that was soooo cute.
Another Lailaism I forgot to write happened about two weeks ago. Her daddy bought the wrong orange juice (with pulp in it) and when she drank it, she said "Mommy I don't want this orange juice, it has dots in it!"

Funny how this is one of many scriptures that describes the dealings the Holy Spirit has been reminding me on.

N O N I Time w/ Steve Francis & Grant Hill

Here's more information I found doing my research. This is an article that I swiped from:
http://probasketball.about.com/b/a/2005_02_03.htm

A few weeks ago reader Dave Swartz, an intrepid Noni disciple himself, tipped us off to the rejuvenating effects of Noni. Nothing specific, mind you, because the Food and Drug Administration would be on Dave's doorstep within minutes, but kind of an all-around healing effect on the body that was unique to each user. (By the way, it's safe to raise a skeptical eyebrow at any point during this section.) The reason Swartz wrote in was that he noticed Steve Francis had a bottle of Noni in his refrigerator when MTV Cribs did a show on Francis' newest pad so Swartz was predicting big things from Francis and his teammate Grant Hill, as well. As Swartz saw it, Francis had to have shared the Noni secret with Hill and that was one of the reasons Hill would finally be healthy this year. (Eyebrow still up?) I ended up getting a cheap bottle of the stuff from GNC and saw some effects: less appetite, a little more focus, etc... but nothing remarkable and so I forgot about it. Well, flash forward to this past Tuesday and a different sport: the NFL. At one point during his much-anticipated Media Day sermon, Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens dropped the word that he'd been drinking massive amounts of Noni Juice in his miraculous rehabilitation from a major ankle injury.

Coincidence? I'm not so sure anymore and that's why I'm getting a bottle of the real stuff from Swartz later this month. I'll be sure to let you know how things progress ... I've been pounding Flaxseed Oil to no avail since Barry Bonds revealed that was his "secret" to human growth greatness. Do your own Noni investigation in the meantime.

God Makes Me High

I felt really good today (and because I felt so good and free... the day went by much faster). I have really been working on changing my belief to be inline with God's will. I've been speaking more blessings into my life, and though I don't see a difference with finances, I do feel like I'm in line with His will and that greatness is just around the corner. It maybe even a year from now or perhaps five years from now, but it's a great feeling to have of never losing hope and always looking forward to the day when you see your harvest.

Noni Research
I've been doing some research on the Tahitian Noni Juice and I can't seem to find any negative reports on it. The only thing I found was that the TNI company can't make claims that is heals people of their ailments. And the FDA said they can't make that claim because people's illness are worst than others. However, I read that it helps lessen a lot of pain (from migraines, increasing energy, lessening allergy symptoms, improving asthma, losing weight, improving arthritis and diabetes, decreasing pain (including headache pain) and to lessen symptoms of cancer, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and stroke). It's all quite interesting, the more I was researching, the more great things I found. I started taking the juice at the beginning of this year. They recommend that you take an ounce a day for 60 days before you can really see a difference with any ailments. Though I don't have any ailments, I survived the cold and flu season with a 100% score! Well, maybe with a 98% score because I did have the coughs for a few days.

People ask what does it tastes like, I say blueberries and bananas with a very slight vitamin aftertaste. But for the first month, I’d chase it down with orange juice, and after that I’m taking it straight. One person I know said that she’s lost weight because it helped to speed up her metabolism and another person said that her skin cleared up tremendously after a few months or sticking with using it.

So anyway, the bottles are $42 each, so I just became a distributor so that I can get them at a discounted rate. If you want to order any, just call Tahitian Noni Int’l (TNI) direct at 888-869-9254 and use my personal distributor ID #2036638. Even if you want to become a distributor for your own self and to help other people’s health, make sure you use my ID to use as a recommendation. THANKS. Try it for yourself, don’t just take my word for it.

Laila as Althea Gibson

Last night I had a dream about a flower. I was just walking toward this huge flower with a huge bud on the top of it. It appeared as though it was about 5 feet tall with this huge basketball-sized light yellow bud on the top, waiting to blossom. I wonder if that was a visual of my spiritual harvest.

I went to church tonight for prayer on the things that have been hapenning to my house and Ralph was praying really good, then at the end he just stopped and said "Have a good evening." Huh?

Yesterday, Laila was in her very first play. It was her Black History play, and she was Althea Gibson. I am a proud mommy!
