We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.-M. Williamson

Laila Learns "Our Deepest Fear"
Sunday I began teaching Laila the Marianne Williamson poem, "Our Deepest Fear." And OMGoodness, has she blossomed in two days. I really want to document her learning the poem on video. Okay, get it together Thais!
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Happy Birthday Katina
This evening I took the kids to Pastor Katina's house to help her and her family celebrate her birthday. I cooked my favorite chicken salad sandwich poppers and they sure were good! It was nice to be somewhere different and cooking for all the people there.
I was just sitting on the couch thinking how they are always inviting people over to their house for something, meanwhile, I feel like my house is not quite clean enough for company. Well, neither was their's, but they had people over anyway. Just an eye-opener.
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:28-30)

Welcome to Heaven Rocky!
“This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.” (Romans 13:6-7)

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Man...57 is OLD! LOL
“Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:1, 3-4)

Faux Pas
Faux Pas
Social blunder made by an individual. It may be an improper action or a mistake of speech.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24)

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:6-8)

Plans For New York!
Okay, me and my good friend Carol are surfing the web making plans for New York. We're finding low-fares as low as $170. I hope they are still there by the time we buy!
“For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)

“ Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!” (Matthew 20: 17-19)

Back From Los Angeles!
It took three days to get back home, but I'm here! It's AMAZING how I spent three days at two different airports and I still have my sanity!
So....how did it go? Well, first impression is that it represents a well-organized cattle-call. My brother came with me, which made the waiting and the anxiousness more bearable (Thank you Ez). After waiting in a long line, you go into a make-shift room where you watch a video on what to expect during your presentation...you're not allowed to make conversation with them to see what they think about your product, because they can't give feedback; you're not allowed to ask them any questions, you know, feeling them out, blah, blah, blah. So after that, we are moved to wait in another line to make sure our paperwork has been properly filled out and turned in, and then we move to our last line before we are instructed to go to a table for our setup. It was neat, looking around at all the inventions and products people were pitching to QVC. I seen some extreme marketing techniques for a not so extreme product and well...some really good marketing for something that is just a simple private label product.
One of the big questions that QVC wants to know is, "How does your product solve a problem?" I didn't have difficulty answering that one, but as I looked around, a lot of people didn't have problem-solvers, they just had a line of hats, glasses, make-up, socks, etc. So do I have an enge on those people? Humm, whatever!
I left pretty confident that they weren't going to be calling me to be on QVC, but knowing that one day I will be on there with Patches. Okay, I'm not being hard on myself, I'm being "Realistic!" I'm definitely am not one of those people with false expectations, so hear me out. QVC says it without saying it, that they are looking for people who have done 85% of the work already, which includes having a massive amount of product in storage, ready to go! I...do not. I am still in the "looking for a manufacturer's stage." Actually, I'm going to New York in June to meet with a few! Please pray that God shows me the right company to do my business with.
“ The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” (Psalm 14:1)
